Blake Mills could be called a music lifer.
As a child in Santa Monica, Calif., he was hypnotized by the mysticism of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain and the machine-gun riffs of Metallica.
“What got me into music as a kid was probably watching TV, falling in love with the image of Kurt Cobain, with the guitar hanging down by his knees,” Mills told Fender.com. “[Seeing] that iconic silhouette of guitar players, I decided I wanted to play guitar.
“From a hobby, it turned into a passion. And then from a passion, it became something I wanted to devote my entire life to.”
